Our annual European conference was held in Vienna and it was one our best attended events (even given the current economic downturn). Key to our success was working from the start with the Vienna Convention Bureau; the entire staff is highly trained and knowledgeable within the meetings and convention industry. From the initial site visit with the VCB to our event at the Hofburg Congress Centre, we had a truly unique and memorable experience. The ease of transit for our attendees and the beauty of Vienna combined to give our attendees a meeting that was a working pleasure!

We have organised our Sibos event in many different cities around the world and we have worked with many CVBs. The Vienna Convention Bureau is with no doubt one of the best ones! They worked closely with us, providing necessary information in a timely manner and always being available for our preparation trips. Their knowledge of big scale events, as well as the good relations they have with city authorities, was key to the success of many Sibos initiatives. We selected Vienna for our annual conference in large part due to the extraordinary attention to detail and sincere enthusiasm for hosting our
event that we received during our site visit. The care for our satisfaction did not end at the signing of the contract, and we are now seriously considering breaking with tradition by repeating this destination, which would be a first in our 15 year conference history.

We were delighted with the success of our 14th European Social Services Conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 19-21 June 2006, and grateful for the committed support offered throughout by the VCB. Local suppliers of audio-visual equipment, simultaneous interpretation and stage-design for the conference all provided an excellent service at reasonable rates and we certainly won´t forget the fantastic gala dinner we enjoyed aboard the ´Admiral Tegethoff´ as it cruised a twilit Danube.

From start to finish, the Vienna Convention Bureau was extremely attentive to our meeting needs. We held our program at the Austria Center Vienna, which was a good venue, only made better by its terrific staff! The Destination Management Company we used, IMS, excelled at making our evening events elegant and special for our delegates. This was a first-time program, filled with agenda changes and budgetary constraints but all of the partners we worked with were very flexible and accommodating, not to mention great ambassadors for the beautiful city of Vienna.
